That’s why homeowners are upgrading these rooms – transforming them into havens with everything from heated floors to soaking tubs. Several award-winning remodelers across the country were polled by realestate.msn.com  about what’s on the rise with bathroom remodeling trends. Here are four that you may want to consider:

• Big, Airy Showers: When they say big, they mean BIG! If bathrooms are small, homeowners are literally tearing out tubs and expanding their showers. Not only are stalls getting bigger, but they’re more airy, and they have much more glass. Homeowners now want luxurious bathrooms that feel like spas. Some are even knocking down all the shower walls and converting their entire bathrooms into huge showers.
• Soaking Tubs Are Replacing Noisy Jacuzzis: While traditional tubs are far from dead, they have changed radically. Homeowners now want the serene, quiet experience of a jet-free, insulated, deep soaking tub.
• More Light: Today, master bathrooms have become sanctuaries and people want them to be more sun-filled and brighter than before. They’re adding more windows and even installing skylights.
• Walling-Off the Toilet: One of the biggest trends in bathroom remodeling and new construction is privatizing the toilet. The master bathroom’s toilet is getting a privacy wall and, in many cases, its very own room.
